I need a coach. You might, too.
My coach, Molly, has been with me for almost three years now, and I plan to keep her around for as long as she'll be my coach. Why? I need a coach.
When it comes to many things- weightloss, wellness, business- most of the very successful people I know have a coach. Why does this help so much? Having a coach is an auotomatic source of accountability, and those check-ins can be powerful. You don't want to tell someone else that you skipped workouts all week or that you didn't prioritize your wellness for some BS reason. Having a coach gives you someone to bounce ideas off of. I can't tell you how many times Molly has listened as I lamented my disdain for vegetables or my frustration with the scale. Having a coach also allows you to process. When you process outloud and talk to someone else, sometimes you open doors that you didn't realize even existed. It helps you self-analyze and figure out the details of your life.
Here's specifically what Molly and I have worked through together:
1. I used to hate vegetables, and now I eat those everyday. Molly coached me through committing to eating vegetable and trying new things, constantly reminding me of why I would benefit from eating some.
2. We've worked on my body image. I used to pick myself apart constantly. I hated what I saw in the mirror, and I worked hard to cover it up. Now I confidently know that I am strong and healthy, no matter what I think I see in the mirror.
3. Molly coached me through switching from a mostly processed diet to mostly whole foods. I feel better whe I eat whole food, and I feel fuller for a longer amount of time. There was a time in my life where convenience foods were king. Everything I ate came in a pre-made, heat and eat form. Now I meal prep with fruits, veggies, starches, and proteins. I'm so proud of this transition, and I couldn't have done it without Molly.
4. In my current season, I'm trying to lose 10 pounds by Labor Day. I'm going to do it. Molly and I have decided that this is happening, and it will. But the key to this whole thing is that I'm checking in with Molly every single day. I Marco Polo her when I'm having a struggle or feel unmotivated to get to the gym. As my coach, she reminds me why I'm doing this. She reminds me that I'm a badass. And when I hear this, I know it's true. I just needed reminding during a rough patch.
So, get a coach. It doesn't have to be me, although I would LOVE to coach you. Have someone in your corner, cheering for you the whole way, keeping you accountable.
I'm taking beta clients starting Monday. You get coaching with me at a super reduced rate. It's open for 5 days only. Think about if one of these spots should be yours.
